“Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” is more watched nationwide than “Temptation of Wife”

The pilot episode of Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, ABS-CBN”s newest action drama series, beat GMA-7’s Temptation of Wife on Monday, January 21.

According to the data from Kantar Media, the Kapamilya series topbilled by Anne Curtis, Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino got 23.6% national TV rating while the Kapuso series topbilled by Marian Rivera only got 17.5%.

Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw airs on the timeslot left by A Beautiful Affair. The first week has been full of action as Ruth (Anne) tried to get ransom money from her dad (Tirso Cruz III) by “kidnapping herself.” Bogs (Robin) was the police officer who was supposed to rescue Ruth from the kidnappers, until he found out that no kidnapping actually happened. Since the truth was revealed, her dad taught Ruth a lesson by making her spend the night in jail. Roxanne (Kris) then visited her detained sister and met Bogs. They had a cute argument as Roxanne accused Bogs of maltreating Ruth.

The plot is exciting and would make you want to know what will happen in the next episodes. If the pace of the story is maintained, it will surely rate higher in the weeks to come.

The teleserye is directed by Joyce Bernal and Malu Sevilla from the script written by Rhoda Sulit. Don’t forget to catch it weeknights at 9pm, after Ina Kapatid Anak on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
