The X Factor Philippines is now down to its Top 10 contestants.
From the thousands who auditioned, only 172 contestants passed to enter the boot camp. Soon, however, they were trimmed down to just 20, with 5 contestants from each of the four categories – Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups.
From the Top 20, the Final 12 was chosen, eliminating 2 contestants from each of the four categories. The Final 12 were the lucky ones who made it through to the live performance shows which started two Saturdays ago. However, during the live results night that happens a day after (Sunday), an unfortunate contestant gets eliminated based on the viewers’ votes and the mercy of the judge/mentors.
From the viewers’ votes, the 2 contestants who gets the least percentage will comprise the Bottom 2. They will each be given a chance to showcase their skills to get the judges’ mercy. The one who will get more votes from the judges will stay while the other one will go.
In case of a dead lock, the decision of elimination will be based back to the viewers’ votes. The contestant who got the least percentage from the poll will be the one eliminated.
Last week, Jerrianne Mae Templo received the first boot from the live results night. Only her mentor Charice saved her while the other three judges voted for Joan Da.
Then just a while ago, Mark Mabasa got the taste of elimination via a deadlock. He was joined by the group Take Off at the Bottom 2 but the voting of the judges resulted into a tie. Mark was favored by Martin Nievera and his mentor Pilita Corales, while Take Off was saved by their mentor Gary Valenciano and Charice. Mark’s elimination was based on the viewers votes where he received the least percentage of 3.72%.
With two contestants eliminated, show is down to its Top 10 namely (by announcement of saves tonight):

- Kedebon Colim (Boys)
- Jeric Medina (Boys)
- Daddy’s Home (Groups)
- Modesto Taran (Over 25s)

- A.K.A. JAM (Groups)
- Take Off (Groups)
