Jhaypee Laganas is “It’s Showtime” first teen millionaire!

Jhaypee Laganas, a fifteen-year-old high school student, won exactly P1,010,000 in It’s Showtime on Friday.

The teenager admitted that he didn’t go to school on August 3 to try his luck in the ABS-CBN noontime show’s “Arte Mo” game. The show was looking for magician contestants and Jhaypee, being one, didn’t hesitate to skip school for the day with a determined will to win the jackpot.

Jhaypee breezed through the “Arte Mo” segment and eventually played the jackpot round called “Showtime Goodtime.” Contestant should get a ball marked with “It’s” from the raffle barrel until he completes every letter of the word Showtime. If he gets to the last letter without getting two balls marked with “X” from the barrel, he wins the million. And it was Jhaypee’s lucky day as he became the first teen millionaire of It’s Showtime.

Asked on what he will spend the money on, Jhaypee said he will use it to pay for the medical bills of his sick grandfather, and spend the rest on his and his brother’s schooling.

By the way, Jhaypee uses his magician skills to teach the Bible to kids. And we must say every good deed is rewarded in God’s time. It just happened that Jhaypee’s reward came a little earlier than ours!
