Jerrianne Mae Templo was eliminated on Sunday’s live results show of The X Factor Philippines. It was the first live elimination and she was the first from among the Top 12 acts to be sent home.
Her elimination followed her rendition of Roberta Flack’s First Time Ever I Saw Your Face during the live performance show on Saturday that was the basis of the text votes. The song was chosen for her by Charice Pempengco, the mentor of the Girls category.
Jerrianne became part of the bottom 2 with Joan Da from the Pilita Corales-mentored Over 25s category. She chose to sing Etta James’ At Last as her survival song but only her mentor Charice chose to save her from elimination. Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and, of course, Pilita chose to save Joan Da who sang Adele’s Chasing Pavements as her survival song.
Jerrianne Mae Templo is not new to singing contests on television. As a young girl In 2004, she became a finalist in GMA-7’s Search For A Star, of which Rachelle Ann Go was declared the winner.
And if you’re wondering if the X Factor judges would have saved Jerrianne if she picked Joan Da’s survival song Chasing Pavements during the results show, here’s an amateur video of her singing the same song at a resort in Bohol:
What do you think?
