GMA-7 is cooking up a high-budget television series that will be topbilled by Jennylyn Mercado and Bong Revilla.
Titled Indio, it is a period series that is set during the Spanish occupation of the Philippines, which means that the cast will be dressed up in lavish costumes of the past!
The series will feature the grandeur of the Spanish colonization, and sadly, as well as the pain that they brought to the native Pinoys who they treated like slaves.
Recent news on Indio says Rhian Ramos is joining the cast. The pretty and controversial actress will be back on primetime television via the new project. She was last seen in a weeknight teleserye in 2011’s Captain Barbell 2.
Meanwhile, Indio is said to be directed by Dondon Santos who directed the movie Noy and Dalaw. He was also identified with ABS-CBN for being the director of TV series like Flash Bomba, Tiny Tony, Dragonna, Kapitan Boom, Varga, the Agimat series, a Maalaala Mo Kaya episode (Pera), and for being one of the directors of Green Rose and Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo among others.
With the cast and director, I’m sure this one is something to watch out for.
