Ben Affleck won as Best Director for his film Argo which was also cited as Best Motion Picture (Drama) at the 70th Golden Globe Awards (2013). The ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Monday morning in Manila), January 13th.
Affleck also won the same award at the recently-held 18th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards, making him, in a way, triumphant over being snubbed by the Oscars for the said category.
Les Misérables won Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy). The movie’s lead actors Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway also won the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress awards respectively in the musical or comedy film category.
