Lauren Young will reportedly transfer to GMA-7 after six years of being with ABS-CBN.
The 18-year-old sister of Megan Young started in showbiz as one of the members of Star Magic Batch 13 by the Kapamilya network’s talent management arm. She was among those who were given acting projects on television, and eventually did the lead role in the remake of the teleserye Mula Sa Puso.
According to reports, Lauren will be managed by Pia Magalona, the mother of Elmo Magalona who is being rumored to be Lauren’s boyfriend. Is she not with Neil Raymundo from DLSU anymore?
Her reported transfer and rumors about her and Elmo are making a stir among the fans of the tandem of Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo. So much more because the loveteam’s movie Just One Summer is showing on August 15th.
Fans of JuliElmo, the moniker given to them by supporters, shouldn’t be worried, though. The Kapuso network’s GMA Artist Center, which will co-manage Lauren’s showbiz career, says she will not get in the way of the loveteam.
We believe that the ones who should get alarmed with Lauren’s transfer are the current and potential leading ladies of the network. With her beauty and acting skills (honed by Star Magic), she will definitely give some of them a run for their money.
However, we are really curious to know the reasons behind Lauren’s switching networks. We’re hoping, though, that it is not just because of her rumored relationship.
