Kantar Media National TV Ratings (December 19-20, 2016) - Magpahanggang Wakas continues to win

ABS-CBN's Magpahanggang Wakas remained unbeaten in its timeslot as it won over rival program for two consecutive days in national TV ratings hitting 26.9% last Monday (December 19, 2016) and 25.2% last Tuesday (Dec. 20) versus GMA-7's Alyas Robin Hood that only got 23.3% and 20.9%, respectively.

Kantar Media National TV Ratings (December 7-11, 2016) - Awra's MMK episode wins

The Maalaala Mo Kaya episode featuring the life story of Mcneal "Awra" Briguela won in the national television ratings on Saturday, December 10, 2016, based on Kantar Media's data.

The MMK episode got 31.1%, ranking no. 1 in the Top 20 programs of that day. It beat its rival program, Magpakailanman, which only got 21.2%.

FAMAS Awards 2016 - Winners #FAMAS2016

Dennis Trillo and Andi Eigenmann won top acting awards at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Inc. (FAMAS) Awards 2016 which was held at the Century Park hotel on Sunday, December 4th.

Dennis won for his role in Viva Films' Felix Manalo. The movie was also the big winner of the night, getting 4 other awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Theme Song.

Andi, on the other hand, won for her role in Angela Markado.

Two teen housemates (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber) both lost a grandparent recently while they are inside the PBB house. With the pain of losing them still so fresh, the two got very emotional talking about the loss.

The five groups have been named during the middle rounds of "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" on Sunday, October 23, 2016. The groups consisting of five members each will perform in front of the judges and from there, those that will move on to the live shows will be determined.

ABS-CBN's "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" kept its top spot as it scored 37.2% national television rating on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, based on Kantar Media's data. It won against GMA-7's "Encantadia" which only got 24.7% and ranked third in the Top 20 most watched program.

Meanwhile, the JaDine primetime series "Till I Met You" also won in its timeslot with 14.7% national rating, beating "Someone To Watch Over Me" which only had 11.3%.

Heilymar Rosario from Puerto Rico is Miss Intercontinental 2016

Heilymar Rosario from Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2016 in the coronation night held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Sunday. She bested other gorgeous contestants from all over the world, including the Philippine representative Jennifer Hammond who only made it as far as the Top 15.

Relatives of celebrities auditioned and failed on the Sunday night (October 9, 2016) episode of ABS-CBN's "Pinoy Boyband Superstar."


Aljur and Vin Abrenica's younger brother, Allen Abrenica, got a high percentage of votes (89%) from the female studio audience but got a unanimous "no" from judges Vice Ganda, Sandara Park, Yeng Constantino and Aga Muhlach.

His singing didn't impress the judges, and it's so sad because he stopped school just to join "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" because he felt it was already his calling. Well, there's always a next time, Allen!


OPM icon Marco Sison's son, Angelo Marco Sison, also auditioned and got 84% from the female studio audience. He sang one of his dad's hits, "Make Believe." His dad and father were with him in the studio during the audition, but it didn't help because he sounded nervous.

Or was it because of his vibrato? Or his lisp (which could be because of the dental braces)?

But Vice thought Angelo's singing could still be improved, and Aga wanted to still see him in the next round so he got two yeses.

The girl judges, however, thought he's not worthy of their yeses. Sandara and Yeng both gave Angelo their nos.

'Jane the Virgin' season 3 premieres this October

"Jane the Virgin" returns for a third season this October with the all-important question: Will Jane finally lose her virginity?

The romantic drama-comedy telenovela stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane Villanueva, a Venezuelan American whose vow to save her virginity until her marriage got complicated when her doctor mistakenly artificially inseminates her during a checkup.

Hugh Jackman finally revealed the official title of the latest Wolverine movie as “Logan” along with a teaser poster showing his bruised claw held by a much smaller hand.


“Logan” director James Mangold (directed “The Wolverine”, 2013) also shared page 2 of the movie’s screenplay on Twitter that read “In this flick, people will get hurt or killed when shit falls on them.  They will get just as hurt or just as killed if they get hit with something big and heavy, like, say, a car.  Should anyone in our story have the misfortune to fall off a roof or out a window, they won’t bounce.  They will die.”

Director Mangold further revealed that Logan being older and in a drunken state, engages in action with his claws extended but is soon pounded with knives, guns and fists.

“Logan” is Hugh Jackman’s last donning of the Wolverine character and from his recent interview with Collider, Hugh Jackman admitted that he feels the pressure has gone the highest notch ever.  "I feel that I'm pushing harder than I've ever pushed before. I suppose the stakes just go up when you announce before your last season that this is your last season, you don't want one game to not be your best.  People ask me, 'How are you gonna be able to let it go?' To me the only way you can let it go is if you left blood every day on the studio floor."

“Logan” will open in Philippine cinemas on March 1, 2017 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Mark Anthony Fernandez denies possessing a kilo of marijuana

Mark Anthony Fernandez denied that he possessed a kilo of marijuana which, according to police reports, was the reason why he was arrested in Pampanga Monday night.

In a short video uploaded on YouTube by rockingpress, Mark Anthony said his side of the story which was different from what came out on the news.

The actor said he was about to buy [marijuana] when the police arrived. The presence of the authorities scared the person he was going to buy the illegal substance from and ran away. He also left the scene without marijuana because the transaction didn't push through.

"Bibili po ako, tapos dumating po sila. Hindi pa po ako nakakabili, umalis po ako, tumakbo po 'yong magbebenta sa akin," the actor said.

According to reports, however, the car Mark Anthony was driving was stopped at a checkpoint because of a missing front license plate. It was there when the police found a kilo of marijuana inside an open bag.

Reports further said that the former matinee idol tried to slip past the police which resulted in a car chase, which forced the authorities to shoot the tire of his car.

He was arrested at San Fernando City and was temporarily detained at the Station 6 of the Angeles City Police.

He went through a drug test Tuesday morning at the Philippine National Police's crime laboratory. He tested positive for marijuana and negative for shabu.

He is scheduled to face inquest proceedings for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Grae Fernandez reacts to dad Mark Anthony's arrest

Teen actor Grae Fernandez took to social media on Tuesday afternoon to post his support to father Mark Anthony Fernandez. The 37-year-old Kapuso actor was arrested Monday night for alleged possession of marijuana.

"No matter what people say about you,I will always be proud to be your son because you're the best dad!" Grae wrote on Twitter.

Grae, 14, is the eldest son of Mark Anthony with Melissa Garcia Fernandez.

According to reports, the police officers found a kilo of marijuana with an estimated street value of P15,000 inside Mark Anthony's car. He was stopped by the authorities because his car didn't have a front license plate. The found the illegal substance upon inspection.

The former matinee idol tried to escape, resulting in a car chase. The police was forced to shoot the tire of the actor's car.

He was arrested at San Fernando City and was later temporarily detained at the Station 6 of the Angeles City Police.

The actor reportedly admitted to using marijuana but only for medical reasons.

He went through a drug test Tuesday morning at the Philippine National Police's crime laboratory. He tested positive for marijuana and negative for shabu.

Mark Antony is a son of the late Rudy Fernandez with actress and politician Alma Moreno. He entered drug rehabilitation in 2004 and made a showbiz comeback after six months.
