WATCH: 'Pinoy Boyband Superstar' - Middle Rounds Performance Night

It's time for "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" middle rounds performances that will determine the lucky 12 boyband hopefuls that will move on to the next round - the live shows. The 5 groups with 5 members each that were formed last week performed their respective assigned songs in front of the judges and the female studio audience. Three among them will move on in the competition through the audience's votes, and the other 9 will be decided upon by the judges.

The first group composed of Luigi D'Avola, Mark Oblea, Joao Constancia, Joshua Manio and Henz Villaraiz performed "Sukob Na" by 17:28. All of them can sing, but the judges picked the strongest and the weakest of the group.

According to judge Yeng Constantino, it was Luigi that shone vocally in the group, while Joshua still needed to improve. Judge Vice Ganda, on the other hand, thought Mark and Joao were the strongest and felt that the number could pass as an "ASAP" prod of future leading men.

The second group composed of Gabriel Umali, Markus Paterson, Isaiah Tiglao, Wilbert Rosalyn and Russel Reyes sang Nsync's "This I Promise You."

Vice said each member of the group sang their solo parts well but had problems when it came to harmonies. He chose Russel and Markus as the strongest in the group. The two members were also the strongest for Yeng. She also commented that group 2 performed way better than the first group.

The third group sang Boyzone's "Love Me For A Reason" and the members, Niel Murillo, Allen Cecilio, Keanno Dela Cruz, Raymond Mabute and Raynald Simon had little misunderstandings during the rehearsals because of Niel who acts like he's the coach.

Judge Sandara Park chose Niel as the strongest among group 3 and it was also agreed on by Yeng. The pop rock star also mentioned that Raymond's tempo was off. Judge Aga Muhlach also commended Niel's voice. "Ang ganda ng boses mo dito," he told the boyband hopeful. The "original heartthrob" also noticed that Raymond was "off timing."

Vice, on the other hand, mentioned that every member of group 3 had flaws during the performance. "Lahat may sablay," he told the group. "Si Niel ang ganda ng boses, pero nilalamon ka ng presensya nung iba mong mga kasama. You looked so insecure, para kang takot na takot, hindi ka nagbe-blend sa grupo mo," he added.

"Si Raymond, ang gwapo-gwapo pero sablay sa kanta. Si Keanno ang gwapo rin, okay din sana 'yong kanta but the key was kinda high for you," the comedian commented. He further noted that Raynald's performance was just safe, while Allen was also not in tempo.

The episode ended with group 3. The performances of the last two groups will be shown during the Sunday episode, and hopefully the top 12 will also be revealed.
