Jao Viola got 96% of votes from the female audience of "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" during the audition episode on Sunday, October 9, 2016. The tattoed 22-year-old from Malabon City made them "kilig" with his good looks and charming personality.
Jao's primary reason in joining the boyband search is for his biological father, who left him when he was young, to know him.
He sang "Tuloy Pa Rin" and while he wasn't lauded for his singing voice, he was given a chance by judges Yeng Constantino, Sandara Park and Aga Muhlach. Vice Ganda gave him a no.
Three yeses were enough, however, to help him move on to the next level of the competition.
