Jake Ejercito has confirmed that he is indeed the father of Ellie, Andi Eigenmann's daughter.
During an interview with pep.ph, the Star Awards Best New Male TV Personality said he never really denied being the father of Ellie. He just didn't answer the questions directly because he was trying to protect the child from being the center of issues.
"Kasi ako naman, I've never denied it naman, e. Never pinpointed on anyone. All I wanted is to protect Ellie. Kasi ayoko talagang pag-usapan," he told pep in an exclusive interview at the backstage of the Star Awards ceremonies.
He also admitted that it had been a year since his fatherhood was confirmed through a DNA test.
Albie Casiño was the one Andi's camp pointed at as the father of the child when she got pregnant. As Ellie got older, however, talks about Jake's ties with Ellie started to surface due to his closeness with the child that had been very visible on his social media accounts.
Last September, though, Andi's half-sister Max Eigenmann revealed during an interview in "Good Times With Mo" that there had been a DNA test that confirmed Jake was the father.

Meanwhile, Jake dedicated the Star Awards recognition to Ellie.
"To my number one inspiration, my princess, my Ellie… this is for you," he said as he accepted his award Sunday night. He won for his appearance in "Eat Bulaga's" Lenten special titled "God Gave Me You" that starred Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
