Albie Casiño takes on a gay role in 'MMK'

Albie Casiño plays a gay role in this Saturday's (October 15, 2016) episode of ABS-CBN's "Maalaala Mo Kaya," Asia's longest-running drama anthology.

Albie portrays the character of Bong, a gay boy who decides to come out after his father passed away only to find out that his mother, Lolet, knew (and has accepted) his true identity all along.

He then meets Nick, with whom he experiences how to fall in love for the first time. But Nick breaks the relationship off when he decides to work as a seaman.

Heartbroken, Bong decides to go to Spain to work on his dream of providing for his family. He is there when he finds out that his first love has come back to the Philippines and is already married.

To forget his pain, he dates a rich Spanish man who eventually offers him marriage. He, however, rejects the proposal because of their difference in family values.

He then gets reunited with Nick, and becomes confused in their relationship. It is then when Lolet reminds him of his worth as son and lover.

Bong eventually realizes that it is his mother that has his greatest love. He brings her to Spain to let her experience the life he thinks she deserves.

Albie is joined in the cast by Neil Coleta as Nick.

The episode is directed by Dado S. Lumibao, from the script written by Benson Logronio and Arah Jell Badayos.

"MMK" airs Saturdays, 8:15 pm, on the Kapamilya network.
