Serbia's Aleksa Gavrilovic was named Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 on Friday night, September 30th, during the pageant's final that was held at the Suroboyo Carnival Park in Indonesia. He bested forty-nine other men from around the world for the title and the bragging rights of being the second to win the crown.
Aleksa succeeded 2015 winner Christian Daniel Ortiz Gonzalez of Puerto Rico who, when asked how he feels, said he was both sad (because he's passing on the title) and happy (because he gets to go home to his family).
Meanwhile, the Philippine bet, Filipino-Italian Andrea Biondo, placed fourth runner-up. It could be because of his answer during the final interview round where the Final Five were given the same question and only 30 seconds to answer.
When asked what "what makes you proud of your country nowadays," he answered that he chooses the Philippines as his country despite his Italian blood.
The fourth runner-up finish, however, was already a great achievement in itself. There were fifty contestants in all and ranking fifth overall wasn't bad at all.
The event was hosted by Willan Pagayon from the Philippines.
