James Ryan Cesena might have given a better performance among the four who sang for survival on Sunday, but he was the one that got the boot from Pinoy Boyband Superstar just one week before the grand finals.
James was among the boyband member wannabes that got into the weakest group after the Sudden Death Challenge on Saturday where the Top 8 sang in pairs. Each pair had an assigned judge who would comment on their performance. The same judge was also responsible on sending one contestant to the grand finals and the other to the weakest group.
Aside from James, the other boys that sang for survival were Tristan Ramirez, Tony Labrusca and Ford Valencia.
After the combined results of text and Google votes, Ford got the highest percentage and was the first to be named safe. He was followed by Tony who got the second highest percentage.
The judges voted between Tristan and James. Aga Muhlach chose James, Yeng Constantino thought Tristan was more deserving, Sandara Park picked James, and Vice Ganda voted for Tristan.
It was a tie, and in case of such, the decision will go back on the results of the votes.
Tristan got the third highest percentage of votes, thus, was named safe.
James was eliminated for getting the least percentage of combined text and Google votes.
Here's the official tally of votes:
Ford Valencia - 42.56%
Tony Labrusca - 33.19%
Tristan Ramirez - 12.71%
James Ryan Cesena - 11.54%
And now the Top 7 grand finalists are complete - Joao Constancia, Niel Murillo, Russell Reyes, Mark Oblea, Ford Valencia, Tony Labrusca and Tristan Ramirez.
