Miss Philippines Christine Juliane Opiaza placed 1st runner-up at the recently-held Miss Grand International 2024.
She placed second to Miss India Rachel Gupta who won the title.
Miss Myanmar Thae Su Nyein won 2nd runner-up, but she was seen crying and going down the stage to her team right after the coronation. Recent social media posts say that Myanmar's national director qould be returning the 2nd runner-up crown because he finds the results unfair.
Menwhile, Miss France Safietou Kabengele and Miss Brazil Talita Hartmann were named 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively.
Part of the top 10 (and all considered 5th runner-up) were delegates from Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Peru, Spain and United Kingdom.
The ladies who became part of the top 20 include Thailand, Colombia, US Virgin Islands, Malaysia, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Curacao, Paraguay and Japan.

Miss Ukraine withdraws from Miss Grand International 2024
A few hours before the Miss Grand International 2024 national costume competition, news about the withdrawal of Miss Ukraine Kateryna Bilyk from the pageant hit the news.
Meanwhile, Miss Grand International posted on Facebook regarding the "Dismissal of Miss Grand Ukraine 2024, Ms. Kateryna Bilyk."
According to an official statement posted on Instagram, Bilyk said she was forced to withdraw from the pageant "due to severe harm to my health caused by the conditions of the event."
She said she was "required to participate in activities" from very early in the morning until very late at night.
The beauty queen also said she had to work even while having a fever.
She was also "given an unidentified pill by the MGI team,which posed a potential allergy risk."
The team also "failed to call a doctor when I fainted and forced me to continue working with a fever of 38.5°C and [blood] pressure of 151/90."
She also alleged that "the organizers confiscated my passport for three days in Cambodia, unlawfully restricting my freedom of movement."
Meanwhile, Miss Grand International posted on Facebook regarding the "Dismissal of Miss Grand Ukraine 2024, Ms. Kateryna Bilyk."
According to the post, the decision to dismiss Bilyk came "as a result of her violation of several terms outlined in the contestant agreement, which she had acknowledged and signed prior to entering the pageant."
The post further stated that " Miss Grand International upholds the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, and all contestants are expected to adhere to the rules and agreements set forth."
The post came with a screenshot of what seemed to be an e-mail sent to Miss Grand International by Natalya Kovalyova, president of Queen of Ukraine, the national pageant Bilyk won that earned her the right to represent Ukraine in MGI 2024.

Miss Grand International 2021 is Vietnam
Miss Grand International 2021 crowned Vietnam's Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien as the winner on Saturday, December 4th, during the pageant's finale that was held in Thailand. She bested several other delegates, including the Philippines' Samantha Panlilio, who failed to make the Top 20.

On Twitter, Filipino pageant fans are calling on Madame Stella Araneta of Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Grand Philippines franchise owner) to drop MGI due to the pageant's results in the past years, most specifically this year, when SamPan didn't even make the Top 20 when it was evident that she did well from day one of the competition.

Miss Indonesia Ariska Putri Pertiwi was named Miss Grand International 2016 during the pageant's coronation night on October 25 at the Westgate International Theater in Las Vegas.

Philippines' Parul Shah named 3rd runner-up in Miss Grand International 2015; Dominican Republic wins
Parul Shah of the Philippines was named Miss Grand International 2015 3rd runner-up during the coronation night that was held Sunday night, October 25, 2015, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand.

Miss Grand International 2014 is Cuba's Daryanne Lees

Daryanne Lees of Cuba was crowned Miss Grand International 2014 during the pageant night held October 7 at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand. She was crowned by the first-ever winner, the 2013 title-holder Janelee Chaparro of Puerto Rico.

Miss Grand International 2013 is Puerto Rico
Miss Puerto Rico Janelee Chaparro was crowned the first-ever Miss Grand International (2013) during the Finals Show Competition that was held November 19th in Bangkok, Thailand. The 22-year-old beauty bested 74 other beautiful contestants from around the world.
The Philippines’ Annalie Forbes was 3rd runner-up, the same place the country had in the recent Miss Universe pageant.
