Another Filipino is making the country proud, this time by getting through the Blind Auditions of The Voice of Ireland’s third season.
His name is Rowell Villones, a forty-one year old singer who impressed the judges with his rendition of Sarah Brightman’s Nella Fantasia.
Only one judge turned his chair - season one’s winning coach, Niall “Bressie” Breslin - but it was enough for the overseas Filipino to continue on in the competition.
Bressie described Villones as “comfortable” on stage, and his singing as “note perfect.”
Other judges of The Voice of Ireland include Westlife’s Kian Egan, The Cranberries lead singer Dolores O'Riordan, and singer-actress Jamelia. They did not turn for Villones but praised his performance just as well.
