Vhong Navarro to sue attackers

After his interview aired on Buzz Ng Bayan on Sunday where he told Boy Abunda his side of the story, Vhong Navarro is going to file legal charges against the group that attacked him on the night of January 22.

The comedian-TV host's lawyer, Dennis Manalo, said on Umagang Kay Ganda on Monday that they will definitely press charges against the attackers.

“Definitely po meron pong kasong criminal na isasampa si Mr. Vhong Navarro laban sa mga taong gumawa nito. Amin pong fino-formalize ang mga dokumentong gagamitin namin… Very critical po at this point in time na malaman po natin ang katotohanan,” he said, as quoted by abs-cbnnews.com.

Manalo didn't reveal the charges they will be filing but said they are more serious than frustrated murder.

"Hindi pa namin maaaring ilahad ang kasong isasampa. Pero mas mabigat pa sa frustrated murder ang isasampa namin," he added.

During his Buzz Ng Bayan interview, Navarro mentioned the name of Deniece Millet Cornejo as the girl who cried rape. He also mentioned the name of Cedric Lee and a certain Mike as two of those who tied him up, beat him, took off his clothes and forced him to say he raped his friend while taking a video of him, and tried to extort P2-million from him.

Navarro is currently recuperating in the hospital. He might undergo surgery to repair the bridge of his nose. He is also reportedly feeling pain at the back of his head and will still undergo more tests to determine the extend of the injuries he sustained.
