NBI probes condo guards on duty during Vhong Navarro mauling incident

The guards of the condominium building in Taguig where Vhong Navarro was mauled on January 22 went to the NBI on Monday. All five of them who were on duty at the time of the incident yielded to the Bureau's invitation, but the information obtained from them were kept confidential.

Deniece Milinette Cornejo, the 22-year-old model who is accusing Navarro of attempted rape, was also expected to visit the NBI on Monday.

According to reports, she was sent a subpoena but she said that she will talk to her lawyer first before going to the NBI.

Cornejo was named by Navarro during his Buzz Ng Bayan interview as the friend he was visiting at the said condo unit at the Fort on Jan. 22. They first met two years ago but they only met again on Jan. 17, a week before the beating happened, in her condo unit.

They arranged to meet again on Jan. 22 in the same condo unit, but as soon as Navarro entered the place, Cornejo went out and Cedrick Lee appeared, pointing a gun at Navarro.

The comedian-TV host was tied, beaten up, and they even removed his pants and took a video of him with his privates exposed while making him say that he tried to rape a friend. Furthermore, they tried to extort P2-million from him.

Cornejo and Lee already broke their silence and gave their statements to the media, saying a different version of the story. Cornejo said she is the victim in what happened as she was almost raped. Lee, on the other hand, said he only rescued Cornejo from being raped. He and his sister arrived at the condo unit because they were set to pick up Cornejo at that time.

Meanwhile, Navarro is currently still in a hospital. He is scheduled to have a reconstructive surgery tonight to fix the broken bridge of his nose which causes his sinuses to clog and give him headaches.
