Being a part of “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles” is a dream come true for Matteo Guidicelli as it fuses two of his passions – hosting and sports.
“I’m very happy because I’ve wanted to host ‘Biggest Loser’ since its first season. It’s connected to triathlon and sports, my passion and lifestyle,” said Matteo.
Matteo, who will serve as one of the challenge masters along with Robi Domingo, said being a part of the reality show is going to be a totally different experience for him as he’s “never done this hosting style before.”
“We don’t have prompters in this show. They just put you out there, so you really have to study your material. I’m excited, and at the same time very nervous,” he shared.
As a challenge master, Matteo will be giving out challenges to the 14 pairs of overweight contestants who will compete in the show to have a health and a better life.
Matteo said he relates to what the show’s contestants go through, because as a triathlete, he also endures strenuous training sessions with his coach.
“My coach always motivates me and pushes me to work harder, which is what I do with the ‘Biggest Loser’ contestants. I want them to improve and see their transformation from being overweight to being fit and healthy,” Matteo said.
The reality show’s host Iza Calzado, meanwhile, will reveal on February 3 the 14 pairs of overweight Filipinos who will live in a camp where they will undergo rigorous training conducted by challenge masters Matteo and Robi, along with coaches Jim and Toni Saret.
Each pair is expected to do everything it takes to stay in the competition and encourage each other to lose weight —a twist that will also test their relationship as relatives, work colleagues, or friends and will show that in having a partner, the journey to a better life will be lighter.
