Xian Lim defends Kim Chiu on "we don't owe you" issue

Xian Lim defended his love team Kim Chiu on the controversial "we don't owe you any of our personal lives" answer that the actress gave out during the press conference of their upcoming movie, Bride For Rent, on Tuesday night.

On his Intagram account, Xian said there's a big difference between the phrases "we don't owe you any of our personal lives" and "we don't owe you an explanation."

Obviously, the actor was defending Kim from those bashing the young actress for her a bit straightforward answer to showbiz reporter Aster Amoyo regarding the status of their relationship.

"There is a BIG difference between "We don't owe you any of our personal lives..." against "We don't owe you an explanation." #goodvibeslangpopalagi," Xian said in a caption to the presscon photo of him and Kim that he reposted.

During the presscon, Aster asked Kim and Xian: "We want an honest answer, kasi nauumay na rin kami, parati kaming nabibitin, may tinatanong kami kung anu-anong pasikut-sikot ang sinasagot sa amin, and this time we want an honest answer. Nasaang level na kayo ng inyong relasyon, and kayo na ba kung saka-sakali?"

To that question, Kim answered: "Ako, ano, sinabi ko na rin nga po ito sa last presscon naming dalawa, e. We don't owe you any of our personal lives siguro. You can think whatever you want to think as long as you're happy when you watch us on TV, nakikita niyo kung papano kami ma-inlove, ganyan. And 'yun na 'yon. And lahat naman tayo merong mga hindi dapat i-share o dapat i-share, and it's our choice, and I hope you guys respect that. Thank you."

The video of that interview was uploaded by abs-cbnnews.com. Watch it to be the judge on whether Kim meant to insult anyone. Also take note of the reporter's tone. Doesn't she sound a little demanding?
