Kris Aquino and Vice Ganda's friendship put to test by being rivals at MMFF

Kris Aquino and Vice Ganda's friendship was put to test by their being "rivals" at the recent Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the Queen of All Media herself made the revelation during an interview with Boy Abunda.

"Yes. Let's be honest, siyempre may effect sa amin," she told Boy Abunda.

Kris is in the cast of the top-grosser My Little Bossings while Vice is the lead star of Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy which ranked second in the box-office results.

Kris said, however, that they have already settled that "phase" in their friendship, and related the conversation that broke the ice between them.

"He said, 'Lakas talaga,' gano'n ang sabi niya. Then I told him, 'Tapos na 'yan, ha?' Sabi niya, 'Oo naman. Nagulat lang ako na ganun sila kalakas. Tapos sinabi ko, 'Bata e,' 'yon lang. Since that time, we've been texting. We are okay," Kris said.

Meanwhile, Kris aired her apology to Ai-Ai delas Alas because she was in London with her two sons when the comedienne's mom passed away.

"I want to apologize to Ai-Ai because when she was grieving, we're all not here, even sisters," Kris said.

She thanked the Comedy Queen, however, for showing support to My Little Bossings.

"Naramdaman ko sa kanya talaga 'yung sincere na wish na maging successful [ang My Little Bossings], at 'yung joy na naramdaman niya when it did happen," she said.

Meanwhile, the TV host-actress said it was securing her son Joshua's future that made her stay with ABS-CBN.

"When I turn 45, and it's time to walk away, I can do so na sure na sure na kinabukasan ni Josh," she said, after talking about how a good deal was closed between her and the Kapamilya Network. She is yet to formally renew the contract, though, on Tuesday.

"Palagi kong ine-emphasize, 'di ba, si Bimb, survivor. May pupuntahan talaga. Si Kuya (Josh) ang kailangan kong isigurado na kahit ano'ng mangyari sa akin, he'll be financially stable," she said.

She also said that she stayed with the network partly because of her followers.

"I always knew na passionate ang Kapamilya audience, but I didn't realize that it was to that extent, na parang it was a feeling of a family member walking away. Parang sabi ko, noong umalis ako sa show ko, there were no goodbyes. Hindi ko alam, bakit parang lahat sila, inisip na aalis, when all of that, to be perfectly clear, were all speculations. Isinulat through a source. Pero in the whole span of time, ang nasabi ko lang was allis ako para magmuni-muni at siguraduhing tama ang desisyon. It was nowhere there na 'bye,' walang ganun," she said.

Some of the messages in social media deeply touched, like the one who told her they would still be her fans wherever she goes.

"Pero siyempre, I'll be honest also, super na-appreciate ko 'yung nagsabi sa akin na 'Saan ka man mapunta, tagahanga mo kami. We'll be there.' Pero na-understand ko talaga na kung eleksiyon ito, yung vast majority, sinasabi, 'Huwag kang lumayas! Magagalit kami sa 'yo kung umalis ka," she said.

But is she really retiring from showbiz at 45?

"Parati kong sinasabi 'yun, I don't want to overstay my welcome. 'Yun ang itinuro ng mom ko na, 'Please go while you're still on top,'" she explained.
