The eight official entries to the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) already earned P597 million after being in theaters for just one week. It was 34.5% higher than what the festival made the same time last year (P443 million).
From day one, since the MMFF opened on Christmas Day, the top-grosser remained to be My Little Bossings starring the child star Ryzza Mae Dizon, Kris Aquino and her son Bimby Yap, and comedian Vic Sotto. It reportedly breached the P200 million mark as early as Sunday, Dec. 29.
Not far behind was the Vice Ganda-starrer Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy. It has also reached the P200 million mark on Monday, Dec. 30, a day later than My Little Bossings.
Top 3 when it comes to ticket sales was Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay starring the love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, while at Top 4 was the hilarious Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel starring Eugene Domingo and Sam Milby.
The box-office rankings of the four other official entries have not been revealed, though. They are 10,000 Hours, Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill, Kaleidoscope World and Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir.
