Renaldo Balkman suffered the consequences of his not being able to hold his anger last March 8 for losing in the basketball game.
The Petron Blaze Boosters import seemed to have gone mad as their team lost to Alaska Aces, 83-73, in the game held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Balkman pushed away assistant coach Biboy Ravanes and teammate Ronald Tubid, and strangled Arwind Santos.
While Santos was able to forgive Balkman, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Chito Salud could not let the incident pass just like that. He handed down a decision on Monday, March 11, banning Balkman from playing in the PBA. The import should also pay P250,000.00 as part of the penalties.
Balkman now joins the list of PBA banned imports like Jojo English, Derrick Hamilton, Ronnie Thompkins (RIP), Kelvin Upshaw and Andrew Moten.
