Andi Eigenmann has been tapped to play the title role in the upcoming television series Galema.
The series is based on the graphic novel Anak Ni Zuma which was published in Aliwan Komiks from 1976 to 1984.
This isn’t the first komiks character for Andi as she was launched by ABS-CBN in Agua Bendita back in 2010.
The news about Galema was revealed by Andi’s mom Jacklyn Jose during the awards night of PMPC Star Awards for Movies last Sunday. She and Andi were both last seen in the Kapamilya series Kahit Puso’y Masugatan which also starred Iza Calzado, Gabby Concepcion and Jake Cuenca.
Meanwhile, the role of Galema was first portrayed by Snooky Serna in the first movie adaptation of Anak Ni Zuma in 1985 (Zuma), and by Jenny Lyn in the second movie in 1987 (Anak Ni Zuma).
Playing the role would require Andi to put on a two-headed snake on her shoulders. But as brave a woman Andi is, I’m sure it’d be just okay even if they use a real snake in the series. Using real ones would be unlikely, though, unless there’s really a two-headed snake around.
