Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw is one of ABS-CBN’s three television series premiering in the early part of 2013. Starring Anne Curtis, Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino, the exciting new drama premieres January 21.
The network has recently released the music video of Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw that revealed a lot of scenes from the series. There were a lot of action, as Robin does that best, and dramatic scenes, including a slapping scene between Kris and Anne.
If Kris was described as “a revelation” in the box-office hit Sisterakas, I think a lot of those who has criticized her dramatic acting in the past will be converted once the series airs. The look in her eyes during the confrontation scene with Anne was moving. I think she has developed into one sensitive actress over the years.
Anne, on the other hand, was very effective as a rebellious daughter based on the music video. You could feel her anger emanating from the screen and that’s what I personally love about Anne. She’s angry when she needs to be angry, sweet when sweet. She can do any role and will give us the right look, the right emotions.
And, of course, Robin can swoon everyone with his good looks. I’m not really a fan of violence on television but his fight scenes were well-executed and believable enough.
Joining the three actors in the cast are Tirso Cruz III, Ian Veneracion, Smokey Manaloto and Lito Pimentel, among others.
