Nora Aunor is Best Actress, Brillante Mendoza is Best Director at Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Along with the national premiere of the movie Thy Womb, comes the news that its lead star Nora Aunor and director Brillante Mendoza won Best Actress and Best Director respectively at the recently-held Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Held on November 23 at the Queensland Performing Arts Center in Brisbane, Australia, the APSA is the equivalent of US’s Oscar Awards in the Asia Pacific.

Nora and Brillante weren’t able to attend the the awards night because Thy Womb’s premiere happened the same night.

Meanwhile, Chris Martinez, whose Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank was nominated under Best Screenplay category, didn’t win.
