More than 400 hopefuls showcased their talents yesterday during the first day of auditions for roles in Miss Saigon’s revival in London.
Among those who auditioned on November 19 were local singers who wanted to try to make it big in the West End and follow the steps of the original Miss Saigon, Lea Salonga.
Only 60 from the first day of auditions received callbacks, meaning they passed the first stage of audition. Among them were Karylle, Tippy dos Santos, Rita de Guzman, OJ Mariano and Kayla Rivera, among others.
Bossa Nova singer Sitti Navarro and Laarni Lozada, however, auditioned but didn’t get called back.
Meanwhile, Kapuso diva Rachelle Ann Go auditioned today, Nov. 20, and reportedly also received a callback.
Rachelle Ann is not new to musical theater. Last year, she did Ariel in the local production of The Little Mermaid opposite Erik Santos.
