Willie Revillame to host a noontime show, Lovi Poe to transfer to TV5

TV5 is said to be preparing to compete more intensely with the two leading networks, ABS-CBN and GMA-7, beginning next year.

First up was Willie Revillame’s recent live announcement that will be leaving his weeknight game show Wil Time Bigtime early in January 2013. Many hinted that it was just a gimmick of sorts, because he wouldn’t be announcing such a thing in such a manner on live TV if that was indeed true.

And just like many of us speculated, recent reports say that Revillame will be hosting a new noontime show come January because TV5 will be devoting the evening timeslots to bigger series that would compete with the top-rating ones of the other networks.

Latest developments say that they are luring bigger stars to topbill these upcoming series, and one of them was Lovi Poe.

Lovi, who has been with the Kapuso Network for quite some time now and who stars in the afternoon soap Yesterday’s Bride opposite Rocco Nacino, has been rumored to leave the network after her contract expires in March. When asked if it was true, she just said she leaves decisions like that to her manager.

Many thought Lovi would be transferring to ABS-CBN, but now reports say it is indeed TV5 that Lovi would be leaving GMA-7 for.

Everything in the drama series that Lovi will star in is said to be ready, although details have not been out yet.

The dusky actress is now new to TV5, though, as she starred in the network’s youth-oriented show Lipgloss back in 2009.

She would be quite a loss to GMA-7, however, knowing how good an actress she is.

And talking about celebs leaving Kapuso Network, John Lapus is also said to transfer back to ABS-CBN. His reason? The network doesn’t have a job for him as of the moment. He said they understand him, though, because he has obligations and needs to work.

It was just sad when he said, “Nalungkot lang ako dahil nang lumipat ako sa Channel 7, akala ko sa kanila na ako tatanda. Nakikita ko ang pag-aalaga nila kay Kuya Germs and how I wish na ganun din ako pero wala pa silang maibigay na project. Kaya sa iba muna ako magta­trabaho.”
