Dennis Trillo topbills Brillante Mendoza’s “Sapi” (Teaser Video)

Dennis Trillo topbills the upcoming independent film helmed by award winning director Brillante Mendoza. Titled Sapi, the movie tells the story of a group of young filmmakers who are making a movie about exorcism in the Philippines.

Nora Aunor is Best Actress, Brillante Mendoza is Best Director at Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Along with the national premiere of the movie Thy Womb, comes the news that its lead star Nora Aunor and director Brillante Mendoza won Best Actress and Best Director respectively at the recently-held Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Held on November 23 at the Queensland Performing Arts Center in Brisbane, Australia, the APSA is the equivalent of US’s Oscar Awards in the Asia Pacific.

Nora Aunor-starrer "Thy Womb" now an official 2012 MMFF entry

Brillante Mendoza’s Thy Womb is now an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) which opens on Christmas Day.

Starring Nora Aunor, Thy Womb has been exhibited at the Venice International Film Festival last month where it received a standing ovation for more than five minutes.

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards has unveiled the list of nominees for this year.

The Philippines got three nominations – Brillante Ma. Mendoza for Sinapupunan (Thy Womb) under Achievement in Directing category, Chris Martinez for Ang Babae sa Septic Tank (The Woman in the Septic Tank) under Best Screenplay category, and Nora Aunor for Sinapupunan (Thy Womb) under Best Performance By An Actress catergory.

Nora Aunor received a Bisato d’Oro award for her performance in the independent movie Thy Womb.
