GMA Network has recently addressed the issues that Sarah Lahbati has raised through her posts in her official Twitter account.
One by one, the Kapuso Network answered the controversies starting from the violation of contract to the unpaid talent fees and walk-out incident to name a few.
According to the article posted on gmanetwork.com, the co-management contract that Sarah signed with Annabelle Rama’s Royal Era Entertainment & Artist Management left them with no choice but to sue the actress and the said talent management company if they choose not to rescind. The co-management contract violated the exclusive terms of Sarah’s contract with the network.
With regards to the unpaid talent fee for the movie Basement, GMA Network said the delay in processing was due to Sarah’s not being able to return the contract immediately. It was given to her mid-October but she returned the signed contract December 14th. Because of the network’s year-end cut-off, requests after December 10 will be paid January 11. However, the check was made available to Sarah on January 4th as a special concession.
Meanwhile, GMA-7 said the walk-out incident from the set of Indio was because Sarah followed the instructions of Annabelle Rama. The network belied Sarah’s claim that she was booked for an opening number in Eat Bulaga! the following day, saying that the only schedule GMA Artist Center had for Sarah on Nov. 10 was a Party Pilipinas rehearsal at 4pm. Sarah was also not given permission to leave the set by the production team. She was, in fact, persuaded to stay and finish her scenes. Her walk-out caused a packed up taping and thus incurred “substantial, additional and unnecessary costs.”
The network has already endorsed the matter to BGE Law and will no longer give public comments after the complaint is filed in court.
