The official poster and extended movie trailer of the indie film Lihis has recently been released. It stars Jake Cuenca and Joem Bascon who play homosexual NPA lovers during the Martial Law days.
The story is mostly set during the Marcos administration, with some scenes in the present showing the journalist played by Isabelle Daza who tries to investigate a massacre that happened in a small town some 20 years ago.
More than the story of the lives of the NPA during the Martial Law, however, what could be the selling point of this movie are the steamy love scenes between lead stars Jake and Joem as shown in the extended trailer.
Lihis is an official entry to the very first Sineng Pambansa National Film Festival All-Masters Edition. It was directed by Joel Lamangan from the screenplay by Ricky Lee who said he wrote the storyline of the movie years before the famous gay-themed Hollywood movie Brokeback Mountain was produced.
Aside from Jake, Joem and Isabelle, Lovi Poe and Gloria Diaz are also in the cast, with Raquel Villavicencio, Jaime Pebanco and Tony Mabesa.
Sineng Pambansa happens in all SM Cinemas nationwide from September 7-16, 2013.
