Filipino-Australian singer Chris Cayzer went behind bars for forcefully entering a condominium unit in Mandaluyong City last night.
According to reports, the former The X Factor Australia contestant first tried to enter the condo unit of a woman who had to fight with him to be able to lock her door.
Unsuccessful in the first condo unit, Chris instead turned to the opposite door where only a househelp and two children were inside at that time. He was sitting on the sofa and watching television with the two kids when the building security arrived.
According to Chris, he was looking for the unit of a friend. He was calm when he was talking to the police, but the woman owner of the first condo he tried to enter said his actions at the police station were so different from when he was trying to trespass her home.
“I would never force myself in someone else's apartment if I didn't know who that person was. I'm denying it. I don't remember them actually pushing the door and yelling,” the singer said as quoted by abs-cbnnews.com.
He also apologized to the owners of the condo units, saying, “I’m sorry if I went inside your house, but something’s happened and I hope you understand that I was not there to hurt anyone. I just found myself at the wrong place at the wrong time. I’m very sorry to the house owners.”
Despite the apology, though, he may still be charged with trespassing and physical injury.
