Gretchen Barretto was not surprised that her sister Claudine Barretto is now in conflict with legal husband Raymart Santiago.
“No, I’m not in shock,” she told ABS-CBN News. “But I guess I’m just living my own life for now. It’s called self-preservation.”
She confessed, however, that she’d “like to stay out of it.” She and Claudine are currently not in good terms after a clash last April that made members of their family to take sides.
Meanwhile, Gretchen is back on primetime TV via Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala where she plays Judy Anne Santos’ lawyer.
“She inspires me to be a better actor” Gretchen said. “Kala ko professional na ako. ‘Yung nakita ko si Judy Ann, oh no! Sabi ko may mas professional talaga na tao. That’s why she’s blessed.”
Aside from the TV series, she’s also excited for her first ever indie film where she plays the role of a reporter.
“I’m very happy because it’s the first time na gumawa ako ng independent film and I’m doing it for Cinemalaya; I’m doing it for Tony, so walang bayad po ito,” she said with a laugh.
Her husband Toni Boy Cojuangco is the chairman of Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
