Sarah Geronimo convinced a former singing contest competitor to join her team in last night’s episode of The Voice Of The Philippines.
Klarisse De Guzman was still a child when she joined Star For A Night, the reality show that became Sarah’s stepping stone when she became the grand champion in 2003. Now 21, Klarisse was almost not recognized by the Pop Star Princess. Sarah, however, immediately remembered when the auditionee mentioned her nickname, Klang, the song she used to sing, Mama.
All four coaches turned their chairs for Klarisse but Lea Salonga immediately conceded that she was not the right coach for her. It immediately became a battle just between Sarah and apl.de.ap.
“Klarisse, I think it's destiny. Nauna ako dito para dalhin ka naman sa panahon mo, at ito ang panahon mo. Hayaan mo ‘kong tulungan kita,” Sarah told Klarisse. She even called singer Martin Nievera to help her.
Meanwhile, apl.de.ap tried to call his fellow Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am but his call was answered by a voice mail prompt.
Klarisse eventually picked Sarah because she believed she could help her and also because she wanted to work with her again.
