Claudine Barretto confirmed the news that she has two movies lined up for her comeback in showbiz.
It may not feel like she was away from showbiz because she’s always in the news, but it had been two years since she was last seen on television via GMA-7’s Iglot and three years since her last movie, In Your Eyes.
During her daughter’s 9th birthday celebration in Quezon City on Saturday, the actress told the press that she’s been preparing for her comeback.
“Nag-pe-prepare na ako,” Claudine said. “Puspusan na ang pagpe-prepare. Actually mga one week palang ako nakakapag-prepare. I'm very excited. I'm very, very excited.”
Late last month, it had been reported that Viva Films, where the actress is under contract, is producing a movie for her. Another movie will be a co-production between Viva and Star Cinema.
The second one could be her comeback to ABS-CBN as well. Star Cinema is the film production outfit of the Kapamilya Network where Claudine was an exclusive talent for 17 years. She then transferred to GMA-7 in 2009 but the Kapuso Network didn’t renew her contract when it expired in 2011.
Claudine confessed that she still doesn’t know which of the two movies she will do first.
“Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mauuna,” she said. “Magmi-meeting palang kami. Mag-mi-meet palang kami hopefully this week, and doon ko malalaman.”
She also had some words for her fans she referred to as the Claudinians.
“Sa lahat ng mga Claudinians, malapit na malapit na po. Magpapa-kundisyon lang, dahil medyo maraming pinagdaanan, pero eto na. Eto na rin. Malapit na malapit na.”
