Alessandra de Rossi stars in the upcoming Korean movie, The Mango Tree, directed by Lee Soo-Sung.
The movie, a romantic-comedy, was shot in Cebu. It is about a Korean boy, played by Seo Ji-Seok, who fell in love with a Filipina, played Alessandra.
She was chosen out of the recommendation of local director Adolf Alix, Jr. who she has worked with in the indie films Romeo at Juliet and Mater Dolorosa.
The Mango Tree is her second foreign film. The first was Singapore’s The Maid back in 2005.
She has already worked with Korean crew before when she did ABS-CBN’s Green Rose so she is already aware of their work ethics.
“Nine days kaming nag-shoot doon nila Jake Cuenca at Anne Curtis kaya alam ko na kung gaano sila ka-professional pagdating sa trabaho,” Alex, as she is called in showbiz circles, told pep.ph. “’Tsaka may oras talaga sila. Kapag sinabing eight hours lang ang trabaho, eksaktong eight hours lang.”
Aside from the Korean movie, she also stars in the Cinemalaya Film Festival entry Liars. It was directed by Gil Portes and also stars Arnold Reyes, Cris Villanueva, Richard Quan, Jan Harley Hicana, John Michael Bonapos, Jim Rocky Tangco, Sue Prado and Dax Alejandro.
