Michael Phelps, who made a world record of being the first male swimmer to win the same individual event for three consecutive Olympics, is now the latest Louis Vuitton endorser.
The Olympian was photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the ad campaign that shows him in a bathtub wearing a black Speedo, with his LV tote sitting on the floor beside him.
The 2012 London Olympics was Phelps last. This ad, however, somewhat says that he is now ready to amaze us in other fields.
The 27-year-old swimmer recently said that he plans to travel after his Olympic career is over. “I've been able to see so many amazing places in the world but I've really never got to experience them.”
But that doesn’t mean he will forget his sport now that his competitive career is over. He actually plans to still be involved in a different way. “I would like to take it to a higher level than it is right now and continue to grow the sport more and more,” he said.
He can also now put more time to his charitable foundation that encourages young Americans to live a positive lifestyle.
But is the Louis Vuitton thing just a one-photo campaign? Here’s hoping there will be more.
