Julia Barretto is ‘Mira Bella’

Mira Bella is the title of the series that will serve as Julia Barretto’s teleserye debut.

Julia Barretto

After it was formally announced last May that she will be playing the lead role in Cofradia, a TV remake of the 1953 movie based on a novel by Dominador Ad Castillo, it was eventually reported that it has been cancelled. Rumor has it that ABS-CBN didn’t want any issues with racism that’s why they decided not to continue with the project.

Mira Bella is an original story, and judging by the title alone, Julia will probably be playing the role of a beautiful girl here, as she is indeed one of the prettiest faces in local showbiz. In Spanish, Mira means sight and Bella means beauty.

Julia will be joined in the series by two good looking young actors - Kiko Estrada and Diego Loyzaga. All three of them come from showbiz clans. Julia is the daughter of former couple Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla, Kiko is the son of Cheska Diaz with Gary Estrada (who is now married to Bernadette Allyson), and Diego is the son of Teresa Loyzaga with Cesar Montano (whose marriage with Sunshine Cruz is now on the rocks).

Taping of Mira Bella starts July 18.

Meanwhile, you can watch Julia in Wansapanataym’s four-week special titled “Petrang Paminta.” It airs Saturdays, 6:45 PM, on ABS-CBN.
