Helen Gamboa officially became a Kapuso on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, as she inked a deal with GMA-7 at the GMA Network Center.
The actress who received praises for her role in ABS-CBN’s Walang Hanggan has transferred network for a new series titled Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas where she will be playing, again, a villainess role.
“Every project that I do, every role that I portray, I really feel challenged at pinagbubuti ko to the best of my ability,” she said. “Siguro it will inspire me more na as I go on, pagbubutihin ko pa lalo yung pagganap sa character na ipo-portray ko. When you are an actress and talagang dedicated ka sa craft mo, you will do everything to give a good performance.”
She’s also excited about doing her first Kapuso project.
“Honestly, I am deeply honored to be joining Channel 7. I am so excited about this wonderful project that they have for me. I am sure I’m going to have a very good working relationship with all of you especially with the production team. I’m really looking forward to beautiful days of tapings,” she said
Present in the contract signing (as shown in the photo above) were GMA Entertainment TV's OIC Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Helen, GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Vice President for Drama Redgie Acuña-Magno, and Helen’s manager Shirley Kuan.
During the signing, Atty. Gozon praised Helen’s singing and acting abilities and expressed his gratitude that she is now a Kapuso.
“Tayo ay both honored and very happy that Helen Gamboa is joining us,” he said. “She is not only a good singer but also a very good actress. Sabi ko nga kanina, parang yung itsura niya ay hindi nagbabago.”
Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas is topbilled by Kapuso Primera Aktresa Lovi Poe and Rocco Nacino. The cast also includes Solenn Heussaff, Charee Pineda, Gary Estrada, and Cesar Montano. It is the first soap directorial job of Laurice Guillen.
