Kevin Balot of the Philippines was declared the winner of Miss International Queen 2012 in the pageant that was held on Friday.

Kevin Balot is Miss International Queen 2012

Miss International Queen is an annual beauty pageant for transgenders across the globe. It staged its first pageant in 2004 and has been held annually after that in Pattaya, Thailand.

Kevin, who also won the pageant’s Miss Photogenic award, was contestant no. 3 in a total of 21 beautiful transgenders vying for the crown and title. Her runner-up was Brazil’s Jessika Simoes followed by Thailand’s Panvilas Mongkol.

No local search is done for the international pageant, and contestants are not limited to just one per country. It’s the reason why aside from Kevin, two other Filipinos entered the Top 10.

Michelle Montecarlo and Miriam Jimenez, both Pinoy transgenders, also entered the Top 10 along with Japan’s Beni Tukishima, USA’s Sunny Dee-Lite, Angola’s Imanni Da Silva, Guam’s Matricia Mae Centino, and another one from Brazil, Bianca Gold.

Another Pinoy, Stefania Cruz, won the Miss Ripley’s Popular Vote special award. Other minor awards given out were: Best in Evening Gown – Sunny Dee-Lite (USA); Miss Congeniality – Noah Herrera (Venezuela); Miss Talent – Beni Tukishima (Japan); Best in National Costume – Yuki Tachibana (Japan); and Miss Perfect Skin By Asoke Skin Hospital – Matricia (Guam).
