A magnitude 6.5 earthquake hit Surigao Del Sur early morning of Saturday, November 3, 2012.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded the earthquake at 2:17:34 AM. The epicenter was traced 20 kilometers (km) east of Tandag, Surigao Del Sur. It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 78 km.
It was felt at Intensity V in Tandag; Intensity IV in Surigao City and Dapa, Surigao Del Norte; and Intensity III in Bislig City, Butuan.
A series of aftershocks have been recorded at magnitudes 3.5, 2.8, 2.7, and 4.6 until 6:13 AM.
