Cory Monteith’s cause of death revealed

“Mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol” was the cause of death of Cory Monteith. He was 31 years old.

It was confirmed by the British Columbia Coroners Service on Tuesday that there was a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol in the actor’s system.

Reports say, however, that it wasn’t done on purpose and wasn’t a suicide attempt.

“It should be noted that at this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith's death was anything other than a most-tragic accident,” the BC Coroners Service added.

Investigation is still ongoing, reason why no other details are available. The coroners service they won’t be releasing any more information until they have concluded their investigations.

Popular around the world for playing Finn Hudson in the hit series Glee, Cory was found dead in his hotel room in downtown Vancouver on Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2013. He was scheduled to check out early that day that’s why hotel staff entered his room to check.

In March, he admitted himself in a rehab due to substance addiction issues. He got out last April.

It was a second time for him, the first was when he was 19 through the intervention of his family. He admitted in 2011 that he has had problems with drugs since his pre-teen days.
