Gloc-9 - “Sirena” feat Ebe Dancel music video

Gloc-9’s Sirena featuring Ebe Dancel is currently on top of Pinoy MYX Countdown (Aug 25-31) and MYX Hit Chart (Aug 26-Sept 1). Aside from Gloc-9’s excellent rapping skills, the song’s sensitive subject is what makes it one of the most requested.

Sirena is Tagalog slang that means male homosexual. The song, and the music video, tells about the sad life story of a “sirena” from his battered childhood up to the time when he was the only one left to take care of his ailing father.

Gloc-9 has also been making the rounds of television programs. He was seen days ago in Bandila, last night in Gandang Gabi Vice and this morning in Kris TV.

His appearance in GGV last night brought the song a lot closer to televiewers. He did his rap parts while Vice Ganda, the show’s host and a popular gay icon, sang the part of Ebe Dancel while wearing a long black gown with an almost waist-high slit. Vice singing the song gave the lyrics a whole new meaning, almost emotional despite its upbeat melody.

Meanwhile, the music video of Sirena features some of the well-known gays in the Philippines – Momoi Supe (Professional Interior Designer); Tuxqs Rutaquito (Stage Director, Actor, Set Designer); Carlo Vergara (Creator of Zsazsa Zaturnnah); Wanggo Gallaga (Writer and HIV Advocate); Ricky Francisco (Independent Conservator and Curator); Danton Remoto, Bemz Benedito and Raymond Alikpala (Ladlad Partylist); and Boy Abunda (TV Personality and Host).
