It was an otherwise cold and chilly December night but the Nagoya Civic Assembly Hall (Kokaido) turned up the heat as Kapamilya stars shared an early Christmas treat at the “Pamaskong Handog sa Nagoya.” There were deafening shrills one after the other as TFC in partnership with Celebrity Starz and Matsui Shuzou unveiled Kapamilya stars Coco Martin, Bamboo, Cacai Bautista and Kim Chiu one after the other.
“Pamaskong Handog sa Nagoya,” supported by Western Union, 7Bank and Globe Telecom, was the fifth major TFC event in the area since 2008. Opening the event was comedienne Bautista who did not disappoint the crowd with her funny antics. But more than her usual comic spiels, Bautista surprised everybody with her rendition of a Broadway medley which showcased her real singing prowess.
The crowd, some driving six hours to the event, knew the pre-Christmas event was worth the wait as soon as rock star Bamboo appeared on stage and seemingly made an ode to the night’s weather when he sang “Ulan.” The crowd was completely sold when he sang “Probinsyana” and “Noypi.”
Much to the delight of the young male crowd, no less than young superstar Chiu mashed up Rihanna’s“Diamond” and French DJ David Guetta‘s “Titanium” and danced to the tune of Jennifer Lopez’ “Live It Up.”
It was then the turn of the female crowd to go wild as Martin, arguably the most successful actor of his time, appeared on stage. The former star of the highly successful “Juan dela Cruz” sang the teleserye’s theme “Pusong Bato.” Martin shared more treats when he sang an Eraserheads medley and Bryan Termulo’s “Sa Isang Sulyap Mo.”
Lucky participants from the crowd got the chance to bond with the Kapamilya heartthrob during the dating game where the Pinay who got the most support from the crowd won.
During the middle of the show, Chiu and Bautista returned to talk about another Christmas offering, the TFC Choice package. Challenging the crowd to be more discerning in their choice of entertainment, the two stars encouraged the Filipinos to choose only the original and the best from TFC Choice for only Y1,000.
As proof of the best kind of entertainment that TFC can provide, lucky subscribers were treated to exclusive meet-and-greet with the stars.
Supporters also shared early Christmas offerings as Western Union introduced its new branch in Sakae Ward that will enable the company to reach out to more Filipinos in Nagoya. On the other hand, Globe Telecomlaunched Yo!, a voice over Internet (VoIP) service that allows call and text messaging to any mobile and landline number in the world using a smartphone.
The event ended with a touching note as the artists sang ABS-CBN’s Christmas station ID theme “Kuwento ng Pasko,” recently rearranged to reflect the more poignant yet inspiring take on Christmas as the Filipino remains resilient despite the recent typhoon that struck some parts of Visayas, Philippines in November.
Filipinos in Japan can look forward to more of TFC events in the coming years as the network remains committed to sharing more of the Filipino talent and stories worldwide. Connect with fellow Kapamilyas worldwide. Visit www.facebook.com/TFCKapamilya.
