'Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy' breaches P200M mark

The 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy reached the P200 million gross on Monday, December 30, 2013, according to its lead star Vice Ganda.

The comedian took to Twitter to tell his followers about the good news and to thank those who have watched the movie.

"#GirlBoyBaklaTomboy has just reached the 200Million mark earlier today. Maraming maraming salamat po MadlangPeople!!! Deserve nating tumawa!" Vice said.

Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy won 2nd Best Picture during the MMFF awards night last Friday. It also got the Gender-Sensitivity Award and Best Actress for Maricel Soriano.

Despite breaching the P200 million mark, though, it is so far not the highest-grossing MMFF entry this year. Leading the box-office race from day one is My Little Bossings which stars child actress Ryzza Mae Dizon (who won the MMFF Best Child Performer for her role), Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino and her son Bimby Yap in his first acting project.

According to an Instagram post by Darla Sauler, My Little Bossings breached the P200 million mark on Sunday, Dec. 29, with P202,767,958.58. That was a day before Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy breached that mark.

MMFF entries are still showing in cinemas nationwide and the box-office results are still unofficial. A lot could still happen especially because based on reports, the margin between MLB and GBBT is very small. There's indeed a big possibility that the rankings could still change.
