A cheerful Anne Curtis greeted the “madlang people” in It’s Showtime on Monday, the morning after an article came out on pep.ph regarding her meltdown in an upscale club more than a week ago.
“Isang masaya at moving on na tanghali sa inyo my super sexy madlang people,” she shouted during the opening of the ABS-CBN noontime show.
Even Vice Ganda, who was not feeling so well, made an effort to be in the show to support Anne, whose slapping John Lloyd Cruz and two others in the club incident, plus her dialogue where she allegedly said she can buy Phoemela Barranda, her friends and even the club, drew criticisms.
“I'm not really supposed to be here, but I have to be here. I have to be here,” Vice said while hugging Anne.
A night before, however, Anne posted a message on her Twitter account thanking those who stick with her through the controversy.
Thank you to everyone that has messaged me about their support. With where I am today I owe all of you my honesty. Good night.
Anne was said to be drunk when the slapping incident happened. She was hosting a bachelorette party for a friend in a cordoned area at the VIP section of Prive when she got mad and slapped people, John Lloyd included, who were astounded as they didn’t know what was happening.
The actress-host caused quite a scene and was later escorted out of the place.
She, however, reportedly apologized through text the following day, at least to Circuit magazine publisher and editor JR Isaac who was also one of those who got slapped.
As JR told pep.ph, a phrase in Anne’s apology message says she “would never act like that in the right state of mind.”
The magazine editor said he replied to Anne’s text saying she is already forgiven, but as he put it in the earlier part of the pep.ph interview:
Your basic character shows when you're intoxicated.
Meanwhile, John Lloyd reportedly acted like a gentleman even as Anne slaps him and points a finger to his face while saying, “You are an addict!”
