Enrique Gil is bound to be a certified recording artist as Star Records is releasing his debut album soon.
Aside from two covers, the album reportedly consists of all original tracks that has something for all ages.
“The songs there are for iba-ibang tao. Kahit sinong bumili, everybody can enjoy it. Something new. Sana magustuhan,” he said.
When asked to describe his album, Enrique revealed: “It’s more about me. Gusto ko ilabas dito ‘yung mga music na Westernized, parang sa States, ‘yung hip hop. Pero siyempre may Tagalog din. And ‘yung oldies na kanta. May mga old tracks na ginawa kong newer version ko. I kind of changed it up.”
More known as an actor for his roles in Budoy and Princess And I, Enrique confessed that he is not sure if he can meet the label’s expectations of him.
“Star Records said we want you to do something like this,” he narrated. “Parang sa akin, sige i-try natin. Hindi ako sigurado if magagawa ko ang expectations nila pero i-try natin para maiba.”
He also added that he has already heard the tracks and said they’re all good.
However, Enrique has already recorded a song (Tunay Na Ligaya) for the Princess And I soundtrack album and that perhaps told Star Records that he can be a certified recording artist.
Meanwhile, aside from this good news, Enrique also topbills the new primetime series Muling Buksan Ang Puso together with Julia Montes and Enchong Dee. It is set to air its pilot episode on Monday, July 8, 2013.
