Robin Padilla was seen in TV5’s Wowowillie on Thursday, February 7, defending his wife against her bashers on social media.
Mariel got the ire of some netizens because of her jealousy over the Tuesday episode of ABS-CBN’s Kahit Konting Pagtingin. The said episode showed the characters of Robin and Kris Aquino getting married and having a honeymoon.
A lot of Twitter and Instagram users described Mariel as OA (overacting) and couldn’t understand her jealousy over some scenes, when acting was her husband’s job. That’s the reason why Robin went to the rescue to defend his wife on national television, and in the process revealing that Mariel gave him back their wedding ring because of jealousy.
“Kung sino man ‘yong mga naninira na sinasaktan n’yo pa ‘yong asawa ko, pasalamat ka hindi kita makita sa TV. Pasalamat ka. Kasi social media tatapang ho ng tao d’yan kasi hindi kayo nagkikita. Pero sa isang lalaki napakasakit kapag hindi mo maipagtanggol ang asawa mo,” Robin said, proving once again that he’s a bad boy in and out of the characters he play.
He then got the ring that Mariel returned to him from his pocket and went down on one knee to put it back on his wife’s finger.
Mariel was obviously the happiest (if not the prettiest) girl in the world at that moment. It’s so touching how a husband would go on TV defending his wife from her bashers. (But, of course, he wouldn’t be able to do that if they’re not both celebrities.)
