29th PMPC Star Awards for Movies (2013) - Nominees

The nominees for the 29th Star Awards for Movies (2013) has been announced by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC). Winners will be revealed during the awards night happening on March 10, Sunday, 6:00 PM, at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. ABS-CBN will air it a week later on March 17 via the network’s Sunday’s Best.

Star Cinema’s One More Try, receives thirteen nominations including Movie of the Year, Actress of the Year for both Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban, Actor of the year for Dingdong Dantes and Director of the Year for Ruel Bayani.

Angel and Angelica are running for the top acting award with Nora Aunor who won in the same category at the recent Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Will the PMPC favor their acting more than the superstar’s? And will Angel, who was last year’s Best Actress for In The Name Of Love, also be this year’s winner?

Dingdong, who was MMFF’s Best Actor for the same movie, also has some serious competition in John Lloyd Cruz (The Mistress) and Coco Martin (Sta. Niña). All three were equally good in their movies so whoever wins the award deserves it.
