Gov. Vilma Santos topbills the indie film Ekstra, an official entry to the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival under the Directors Showcase category.
Along with Ate Vi, other stars in the movie include Marian Rivera, Cherie Gil and Piolo Pascual. It is under the direction of Jeffrey Jeturian, produced by Quantum Films.
The movie, as the title suggest, revolve around the story of a television series bit player (extra) played by the Batangas governor. She plays a maid in the soap opera titled Una Kang Naging Akin Book II with Marian, Piolo and Cherie in the lead cast.
It is said that Richard Yap, popularly known as Sir Chief of Be Careful With My Heart, is also in this movie.

Seems like this year’s edition of Cinemalaya is gonna be more mainstream than indie. What with Vilma, Marian and Piolo, plus New Breed category’s The Diplomat Hotel with Gretchen Barretto, Nuwebe starring Jake Cuenca, and Debosyon starring Paulo Avelino.
Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2013 happens from July 26 to August 4 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Trinoma, and Greenbelt cinemas.
